When a wrestler places at an OAC District as an alternate, they need to log on to their OAC account and accept or decline the alternate status.
Declining the spot means the wrestler does not wish to wrestle at the State Tournament. If you decline the alternate spot and then qualify at another district, the wrestler will still be labeled as declined. This is why it is very important if you have any intention of wrestling at the State Tournament that your wrestler accepts the invitation, even if your wrestler (as an alternate) intends to compete at more districts. If your wrestler competes at another distinct and qualifies, that new qualification placement will supersede and replace the alternate placement.
